Sometimes the best things come in small packages. This beautiful Vancouver Island elopement on the west coast near Sooke was everything I could have dreamed it would be and more. This sweet couple had to change their plans due to the pandemic, and I was so grateful to be with them for this special day. It was beautiful and heartfelt, and felt like a ray of hope during a very uncertain time. I shared this day with some amazing and wonderful vendors:
Blue Lily Event Planning, Toque Catering, Schur to Please boutique cakery, Foxgloves Flowers, Darling Vintage Rentals & Styling, and Paper Heart Films.
Here are some thoughts from my lovely bride Marleigh: Although our wedding day ended up being so different than we imagined, I honestly wouldn’t change a thing. Covid-19 completely sidelined our perfectly laid plans, and coming to the decision of what to do was not easy. We chose to elope on a private beach on the coast and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting to marry my best friend. The waves crashed around us in our perfectly intimate ceremony and it was followed up with a champagne toast, cake cutting and our first dance. We decided that being married was our priority, and we will celebrate with all of our loved ones when the world is right again.
